YAGNA is a classical dance festival dedicated to celebrating the artistic traditions of India while creating a platform for emerging talent and established practitioners of the art form.
Conceived as a collaborative initiative by Vyshnavam Natyakalagriham and Natyasatvaa Kalaa Kendra, the festival brings together two integral dimensions of the classical dance ecosystem: the nurturing of young talent and the presentation of accomplished artistic work.
Through its Bharatanatyam competitions, YAGNA provides aspiring dancers with an opportunity to demonstrate their training, artistic understanding and performance abilities in a structured and encouraging environment. The platform seeks to recognise commitment to the art form and encourage the next generation of dancers to pursue their artistic journeys with discipline and purpose.
Complementing this initiative, the festival presents performances by distinguished artistes and dance ensembles, bringing diverse artistic perspectives and accomplished works to the stage. These presentations offer audiences an opportunity to engage with the depth, diversity and continuing evolution of Indian classical dance.
YAGNA envisions a festival environment that encourages artistic exchange, meaningful engagement and a deeper appreciation of classical dance. By bringing together performers, students, teachers and audiences, it seeks to contribute to the cultural landscape of Pune and foster connections across generations of practitioners.
Bringing Artists Together. Celebrating Tradition. Inspiring the Future.
Bringing young dancers from diverse backgrounds together to demonstrate their abilities, participate in artistic competition and gain valuable stage experience.
Presenting accomplished artistes and distinguished dance productions, while creating opportunities for learning, observation and engagement with the masters of the art form.
Bringing dance institutions, practitioners and audiences together to strengthen connections, widen appreciation of classical dance and enrich Pune's cultural landscape.
“Our aspiration is not simply to conduct an event. It is to build an artistic community that can grow year after year.”
